I am worried sick now! I read the papers today this morning, and the Thai troops were increasing in size from about 165 in total yesterday to 200 something already, according to local papers. I can't believe that the fraternal bond between Cambodia and Thailand is being stretched at both ends that it might just, you know, break if no immediate actions are taken to grapple with the gravity of the situation. Some Khmer families near this Wat--i can't remember the name--actually fled their homes and sought shelter and protection from the Khmer troops stationing there at Preah Vihear. Despite the fact that constant negotiation is in progress, one can feel the tension. Nevertheless our Prime Minister has made it clear that AT ALL COSTS there MUST NOT be fighting back if firing breaks out. My condolence to the victimized Burmese families... This disastrous cyclone will be remembered with bitter recollection for its atrocity. About 22000 innocent people have been reported dead. And many other thousands are made homeless, motherless, fatherless or even friendless. Our Cambodian government has given a small contribution of $50000 to the Burmese government in addition to the $10000 already offered by the Cambodian Red Cross. I pray that the cylone will die down soon so that social recontruction will start to take form. May the light of heaven watch over the Burmese!!!

There were so many destructive accidents in the last couple of days. And among those tragedies one broke a pair of legs belonging to this very well-known Pop singer, Sok Pisey, and sucked the lives out of her parents'. This breaking news must be a real devastating blow to her fanatic supporters out there. Well, i have to admit that i have never liked her as a singer that much, but when it comes to serious issues like this, my heart just goes out to her. It is beyond the possibility of human power to foresee what is coming in the way, and lives can be lost in the blink of an eye. I just wonder what her last words to her parents were. Hope she didn't say anything to hurt them, or she would be living a life with great remorse in those so many days to come. Dear All, A few weeks ago, in a cinema, a person felt something poking from her seat. When she got up to see what it was, she found a needle sticking out of the seat with a note attached saying, "You have just been infected by HIV (AIDS)". The Disease Control Center (in Paris ) reports many similar events in many other cities recently. All tested needles were HIV Positive. The Center also reports that needles have been found in cash dispensers (ATM) at public banking machines. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced with this kind of situation.
