Untitled Story

His watch just struck 8pm. Another half an hour to go, he thought to himself. The rain seemed to be somehow mad at him, for it was slashing itself violently against the glass pane of Brown 1, breaking itself into tinly little droplets that trickled all the way down. He looked around, realizing that he was the only remaining customer. But he was still hopeful. He still was! He could not help but gaze through the glass door into the darkness outside, hoping ...

"Sir, would you like something else?" A face with a beaming smile blocked his view.
"Oh no, thanks! I'm just ... I'm good with just this. Thanks." He awkwardly forced a smile back at the waiter, who grinned at him one more time before taking off to join the other two apparently chatting away and occasionally stealing glances at him.

He looked at his watch again, sighed, and flipped through the pages of Globe in search for something interesting to read to kill the time. As much as he wished he could concentrate on "The Tycoons and the Tyrants", he had to glimpse at the entrance door every now and then. And just as he looked at the door again, his view was blocked by the same facial smiling expression.

"Sir, this is for you." The waiter, still beaming, with two hands, handed him a small yellow note on which there were some wet patches.

He frowned, slightly annoyed by how happy the waiter always seemed to be, and bewildered.

"May I know what this is for?"

The waiter cackled a bit and smiled again.

"Someone dropped by and asked me to pass this to you, sir."

Without enquiring further, he shoved past the waiter, knocking the waiter butts first onto the hard floor, and dashed towards the door. He banged into the glass door with all his might that he almost heard the birds chirping. He shook his head--and therefore his pain--away, and then gathered his strength back and this time pushed the glass door open and ran into the darkness ...

I have always had this scene stuck in my mind ...maybe I already wrote it somewhere ?@@
yes.. i think u already wrote this somewhere... or perhaps I wrote it somewhere... i can't remember...
